SciTec relocated its Boulder office to a new facility to accommodate our dynamic growth and optimize workspaces to support a modern “software factory.” David Simenc, Tactical Systems Portfolio Lead and director of the Boulder office, characterized what the new office means for future growth and opportunities: “To continue meeting our mission partner needs for rapid innovation, we’ve doubled the staff in our Colorado “app factory” over the past two years and we expect to add another 10-20 staff members over the next two years. The new office gives us secure and open space to grow into. As importantly, the move gave us the chance to reconfigure our workspaces to better support collaborative software development employing agile practices and be a showplace for customer engagement. The office location maintains our proximity to important Colorado Front Range customers and industry partners.”
Matt McHugh, one of the Boulder team’s principal software engineers, led the creation of the workspace from the eyes of a developer. “SciTec has always provided staff with the tools and resources needed to work at the leading edge. When we designed this new facility, we envisioned software engineers, remote sensing scientists, and data analysts working collaboratively across R&D, software, and systems engineering projects, all employing agile development principals. And not just in Boulder, but across all of SciTec and with our mission partners.”
